This Christmas was definitely the most fun one yet. It really is true that when you have kids that know what's going on, it makes it that much more fun. Ezra had been talking about Christmas and presents for a long time, so there was lots of anticipation. Last year I was about 3 weeks from giving birth to Ivy, so we stayed home and had a quiet Christmas just the three of us. This year we went to my mom's house. The first order of business was to cut down the tree. My mom lives in the country right across from where my grandparents' old house is, and they always used to go out and cut a big juniper down to use as a Christmas tree. We picked a nice little tree and Chad had the honor of cutting it. He obviously took the job very seriously.

Ezra had fun running around the pasture while we looked for a tree.

As you can see the tree was pretty humble. My eight-year-old nephew Kellen was able to drag it back to the house by himself.

Pretty lights...
After the tree got set up, Ezra was in charge of putting all the presents under the tree from the closets where they were being kept. He did a really good job!
This morning Ezra was up before 4:30. He was so excited! He and Kellen had shared a bed last night so that meant Kellen was awake early too. We all hung out in mine and Chad's room and played Angry Birds on my Kindle until around 6 when the rest of the house stirred. Ivy loved opening up her stocking and the rest of her toys (until it was time to take her first nap).
We got Ivy her first baby doll...
The kids looked so cute in their Christmas pajamas (thanks Toni!)
On Christmas Eve we played a fun round of scrabble. Kellen and mom won. :)

Granny and all of her grandkids

Ezra got the coolest present from his daddy...a climbing wall in his room! I was so impressed with Chad's skills and Ezra loves it too. He's really good at it already but gets a little nervous when he gets high. He also likes the little hiding area underneath the bottom part.

Merry Christmas everyone!
